I am yet to see the kind of pride in our nation like Nigerians have for their motherland. Believe you me …hehehe (Believe you me- who says that) but i digress where was I, oh yes believe you me all Nigerians still believe they have the best English accent in the whole of Africa, their movies are the best and you can’t tell them nothing. They have, I think, more ethnic groups than we do here in Kenya and still have their own major stereotypes but when in comes to national cohesion they top…(these are all my personal sentiments please don’t crucify me, get your own).

I’m still awestruck by the numerous hate speeches being spewed all over the social space and mostly taking a tribal inclination. The funny thing is that they are very few elements but they are making so much noise that they either drown the many soft spoken lovers of peace and Unity or they scare away the timid and thereby bolster their numbers by attaining more space to shout even more.

I have seen it in movies am not certain if in reality it happens but soldiers always carry their wounded and when on the battle front it matters less which side of the country I was born or raised in. We are facing a common enemy we all at war with this enemy of peace that threatens our social fabric yet we are preoccupied by tribal and ethnic supremacy wars that we cannot see through the lies that our so called political “leaders” are drumming into our heads.

Am not seeing serious measures being taken to address these issues of great concern to this nation. Our leaders are dismissive about it, the citizens are hungry for answers they fall for any explanation.  Serious measures must be taken, the kind that made the US of A recently break its own age old policy of “we dont negitiate with terrorist” to safeguard their own. Note that my emphasis is in the step taken to even go beyond manmade inhibitions to secure the safety of one of their own.

Am seeing political brinkmanship and chest thumping and lots of opportunistic tendencies that will not only harm our children’s future but hinder the cohesion of this great nation. Where there is unity God commands a blessing- the ability to prosper. (Psalms 133)

Now my brothers in Christ. Wake up. Wake up and drown this nation in Love, hope and truth.  The truth about what the Lord has said about this nation. This generation. A royal priesthood a peculiar people. Lets turn down the volume on the hate speech and make them love speeches.  We have heard enough now let’s start to speak. We must be heard now and not later. Arise Child of Promise your light has come.

So let’s all flood the blogosphere with messages of peace and of Love. For our God is not asleep. He says in his word if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Enter Rest

Sometimes the lies from the devil start with some element of truth.
“Did I hear that God said you should not eat from any tree in the garden?”
The lie here was in the packaging. The conversation was made in a way to allow you some small victory.  He appeared ignorant but had a great agenda. He appeared innocent.The Devil’s nature is deception and corrupts every good thing ever so subtly. Once you are convinced you are having a normal conversation then he plants the trap.
Its always a step by step corruption. First plants doubt and options about what you know about what God has said.
” No you will not surely die”.
The lord said you will die so believe it and you have believed it all the while till the devil said otherwise.
The he gives you the offer. “You will become wise like God”
Now this is where we all lose the plot. When we then think we can be wiser than God. He who says our wisdom is like filthy rags. Where our wisdom reaches is where he just begun. Has he not told you to trust in him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding own wisdom?

Again once you realize this we normally make an even graver mistake. Instead of owning up to God we sew our own fig leaves to cover our nakedness. We remain exposed and vulnerable and use our wisdom to try make things better or cover up for our shortcomings yet the lord says we approach his throne with boldness…if we confess our sins he is faithful and Just and will forgive us not may but will…and he is not a son of man to change his mind. His promises are sure.
 You see when the devil has done his deeds he doesn’t have to keep you away from God you yourself will do that. Guilt will take you away. They heard God and they hid themselves. Guilt is a heavy burden very heavy indeed.
The lord is calling us to leave that heavy burden at his feet. And enter rest. Lay aside every sin that besets you.

For God so Loved Kenya

Posted: September 5, 2013 in Uncategorized
For God so love the word…I start again for God so loved Kenya that he gave his only son…
Then I read
2 Chronicles 7:14

New International Version (NIV)

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
So then I realize wait a minute so there is a people who have control over what happens to this world ‘My People’. And now you begin to wonder so who are these people.
The answer is simple
John 1:12-13

New International Version (NIV)

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
So then what next:
We do have a responsibility as children of light. if we cry with the rest of the country then the nation is doomed since the bible tells us that we have a responsibility of turning back the nation to God for the sake of healing and restoration.
We can not be crying with the rest like a people without a mandate. we have a responsibility
This is what the Lord calls us:
1 Peter 2:9

New International Version (NIV)

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
So today when the rest of the country says there is a casting down we say there is a lifting up. The power of life and death is in our tongues lets begin to resuscitate our nation. Lets begin to speak/create what we want to see.
Let all our tweets and Facebook updates reflect hope and a future of prosperity for he knows the plans he has for us.
And if  you want to be part of this peculiar people that God refers to as My people this is all you need to do.
Just say this:
Father in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

Your Holy Word in Romans 10:9 says that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Write my name in the book of life and save me from destruction.

In Jesus Name Amen.

Open wide thine arms of love

Posted: January 14, 2013 in Inspirational

Our late Min. of security Prof. George Saitoti once said there a comes time when the nation is more important than an individual.
When you think about it it’s a very tearse pithy statement (lol had to throw that in — ok moving on swiftly). When you think of it even in your spiritual walk there comes a time when this statement becomes so alive, when the destiny of an individual is far more of import than the selfish and shallow pursuit of happiness.

And while still in the realm of newness this new year presents an opportunity for many me included to do a new thing, to say “enough with this shallow indulgence am going for the long haul in my walk of faith”.

James 4:8 Says: Draw near to God and he will draw near to you, Cleanse your hands
You sinners, purify your heart you double-minded.

I see actions words here; draw, cleanse and purify. The onus is on you and me to make an effort to meet God. We have to draw closer, make it personal and intimate. And the place we will find God is on our knees and in his word.

Further there’s a invitation already to us. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matt 11:28-29

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Heb 4:16

This brings to mind the words of the song by William J Kirkpatrick

I’ve wandered far away from God,
Now I’m coming home;
The paths of sin too long I’ve trod,
Lord, I’m coming home.

Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam,
Open wide Thine arms of love,
Lord, I’m coming home.

I’ve wasted many precious years,
Now I’m coming home;
I now repent with bitter tears,
Lord, I’m coming home.

I’m tired of sin and straying, Lord,
Now I’m coming home;
I’ll trust Thy love, believe Thy Word,
Lord, I’m coming home.

My soul is sick, my heart is sore,
Now I’m coming home;
My strength renew, my hope restore,
Lord, I’m coming home.

My only hope, my only plea,
Now I’m coming home;
That Jesus died, and died for me.
Lord, I’m coming home.

I need His cleansing blood, I know,
Now I’m coming home;
O wash me whiter than the snow,
Lord, I’m coming home.

May that be your prayer this season. Lets change destinies lets affect nations.
